Scent detection is where utilise your dogs incredible sense of smell to find a specific odour - In our classes we search for Red Kong.​​​​

This fantastic sport is beneficial to all dogs, for many it's a safe outlet for their natural hunting behaviours. It helps to build their confidence and encourages them to explore their world

Lenny
Having previously had some 1:2:1 reactivity training with Emma we jumped at the chance to work with her again at scentwork beginners; though we were a little gutted our Lenny wasn’t able to partake in the class environment.

That’s when Emma advised us she was running 1:1 scentwork sessions as well! Our boy is reactive to other dogs and wary of strange people. Lenny is also very easily spooked in new surroundings; due to his blindness.

The 1:1 have been amazing for him! He squeaks when he hears Emma collecting us for our session, confidently trots into the building, sniffing all the smells from previous classes in a little trot around before working his socks off at all the searches! His confidence in his lessons is just amazing; not a side to him we’ve managed to see out of the house before! We’re so thankful he’s had this opportunity to take part in something that’s not usually available for a special needs and/or reactive dog!
