Booking and Attendance

We limit the number of dogs in our classes, workshops, and mantrailing sessions to maintain a safe and effective trainer-to-dog ratio. Booking in advance is essential - entry will not be granted without a confirmed booking.

Dogs displaying aggression, reactivity, or extreme nervousness must not be booked onto group sessions unless you have discussed this with us beforehand.

Sniff Happens reserves the right to refuse or discontinue training if a dog is unsuitable for a group environment. In such cases, we may offer alternative arrangements, such as one-to-one training.

Considerations

• Please allow space for dogs to enter and exit venues calmly.

• Avoid letting dogs interact before class; this can cause overexcitement and reduce focus.

• Ensure your dog has had a toilet break before the session. Always clean up after your dog.

• Switch mobile phones to silent mode to avoid distractions.

What to Wear

Training involves movement and outdoor conditions. Please wear:

• Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and flat, sturdy shoes.

• Waterproof clothing when required, as sessions run in all weathers.

Dogs should wear:

• A flat collar with an ID tag (required by law);

• A well-fitted harness (preferred for mantrailing and scent detection);

• No choke, prong, or e-collars - aversive equipment is not permitted.

What to Bring

Please bring:

• Your dog’s lead (no retractable leads, please);

• Plenty of high-value treats and a favourite toy;

• A mat or bed for rest periods;

• Poo bags and water for your dog;

• Long line (10m) for mantrailing - guidance provided if required.

Specialist equipment will be advised for scent detection or specific workshops.

Children

Children are welcome under supervision.

• Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

• Running or shouting around dogs is not permitted.

• Parents/guardians remain fully responsible for their children at all times.

Punctuality

Please arrive on time. Late arrivals disrupt other dogs and participants and may cause stress for your dog. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may not be permitted to join that session.

Booking and Payment

• Payment is required in full at the time of booking.

• Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Confirmation will be sent via email once your booking is complete.

• You are responsible for arriving at the correct venue, date, and time.

Cancellations and Credits

Sniff Happens operates a strict no-refund policy.

​

If you are unable to attend a booked session, class, or event:

• Your space will be advertised for resale by Sniff Happens.

• If your space is successfully filled, a credit will be applied to your account for the amount paid.

• Credits can be used towards future sessions or courses within 6 months of issue.

• If the space is not resold, no refund or credit will be given.

Sniff Happens reserves the right to cancel or postpone an event due to illness, weather, or insufficient bookings. In these cases, you will be offered a rescheduled date or credit to use towards another service.

Sniff Happens will not refund or cover any third-party costs (e.g. travel, accommodation, or expenses)​​

• Do not attend if your dog is unwell or has been exposed to contagious illness (e.g. kennel cough, parvovirus, etc.).

• Vaccination (or titer testing) must be up-to-date. Proof may be requested.

• Bitches in season may not attend group classes unless explicitly authorised.

• You are responsible for your dog’s welfare throughout all training activities.

Participation in Sniff Happens activities is at your own risk.

You are responsible for:

• Your dog’s behaviour and safety at all times;

• Any damage, injury, or loss caused by you, your dog, or your guests.

• ​

Sniff Happens accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to persons, property, or animals during training, except where caused by proven negligence.

All participants are advised to hold pet insurance with third-party liability cover.

​

Aversive equipment or techniques (e.g. choke chains, prong collars, spray or shock devices) are strictly prohibited.

Sniff Happens reserves the right to take photographs or videos during sessions for educational or promotional purposes.

By participating, you consent to the use of such media on our website, social media, and marketing materials.

​

If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify us in writing before your session.

​

Participants may not record, share, or publish photos or videos of other clients, dogs, or training content without prior consent.

Dog training and scent work involve inherent risks. While every care is taken to ensure safety and success, Sniff Happens cannot guarantee specific outcomes.

Each dog is an individual, and results depend on consistent handling, environment, and practice outside of sessions.

We promote a positive and respectful learning environment.

Abusive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour towards staff, participants, or animals will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the programme without refund.

Vehicles are parked at your own risk. Please do not leave dogs unattended in vehicles, especially in hot weather.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

By booking or attending any training, class, or event with Sniff Happens, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
